In January, Past Tense is moving to a new space in Mt. Pleasant.
For more than a decade, we have supported and served this community. COVID has now fundamentally changed the small business landscape. We need your help to ensure we can continue to do so for this community for years to come.
While we love our quirky space, its unique shape and lack of ventilation from windows that were sealed shut decades ago, make it impossible to safely gather as a community. Happily, we have found a new, larger space just a half-block away. In January, we will be moving to the garage space behind Ellē. Formerly storage and office space for Old School Hardware, the new Past Tense features exposed brick walls, large windows that open, and an immense amount of possibility. We also expect it to be just a little bit quieter than our current location.
Developing a new Past Tense will require your support. The new space necessitates a full build-out. I have applied for several grants to fund much of the work. We still need to raise a significant amount of money and are introducing this patronage program Below is our selection of thank you gifts - make a selection that matches your giving level.
Stacey Vaeth has been our in-house photographer since we opened the studio, shooting our staff and providing art for our space. This is a chance to have a piece of hers in your home at vastly discounted rates while supporting the studio. There is just one of each available. Options with sizes and prices are here.
