Living Yoga Teacher Training, a Yoga Alliance registered 200-hour program, is designed for any yoga student or aspiring teacher seeking broader knowledge of classical yoga teachings in an accessible format and supportive environment. The program will examine the philosophical underpinnings of yoga from the lens of our modern lives and empower students to live their yoga beyond the physical practice. This program is good for students who are ready to make the sincere commitment to take their practice deeper physically, mentally and spiritually. We invite you to spend these six months with us getting stronger, building healthy habits and cultivating a more vital, conscious way of life.
Under the direction of Alicia Moyer, ERYT-500, and Dan Carter, ERYT-500, in conjunction with the Past Tense Teacher Training team, this vinyasa yoga training is a comprehensive six-month program that will hone your teaching skills, deepen your personal yoga practice and guide you through the beautiful layers of yourself to uncover your innate wisdom.
Some of the things that make this training unique and special include:
The training will take place throughout eight intensive weekends on Fridays 6:00-9:00, Saturdays 8:30-5:30 and Sundays 8:30-5:00 and on Thursdays 7:00-8:30.
2019/2020 Training Dates:
I don’t want to be a yoga teacher. Is that ok? Should I still take the training?
Yes, as long as you want to learn more about yoga. Many students take teacher training exclusively to deepen their own practice. For many, this is the first step on the road toward seeing yoga everywhere – not just on the mat.
Can I miss a weekend? Can I miss a day? Do I have to be there for the entire training?
Attendance is required. Any missed lecture or section must be made up during a future training program in order to receive a certificate. Depending on the length and content of the missed section, a make-up session may be arranged. For consistency of the teachings, and the integrity of our program, we insist that all attendance be mandatory.
Where is the training located?
At a private studio in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood.
What does the training cost?
The training is $3,000 and includes a one-year membership to Past Tense. There is an Early Bird Special of $2,800 available through July 31.
What topics does the training cover?
With a focus on postural alignment, yogic philosophy, and practical teaching skills, our curriculum is meant to help you find your unique voice and teaching style. Even if your ultimate goal is not to teach yoga, you can build your ability to communicate clearly and find your path of Truth within this wonderful practice. Students become part of an intimate community of curious yogis looking to evolve their practice, overall well-being and tap into their highest purpose to unleash their full potential.
